Today's cake installment, by special order for Pascal's birthday, is Donauwellen, also known as Schneewittchenkuchen / Snowhite cake. "Schwarz wie Ebenholz, rot wie Blut, weiß wie Schnee, ..." as they say in the fairy tale. Dark dough, Red cherries, White butter cream.

When I made it this morning, I was a bit skeptical how it will turn out, but in the end it came out looking and tasting like it's supposed to. Yum.
