Some of the convention sessions and talks go until 11:00 in the evening and even when not attending the very last talk of the day, having a beer and chat at the end of the day, it quickly becomes late... So I got to see some of Portland's views at night.
Downtown Portland is mostly deserted after 9pm on a weeknight. Since I barely missed my train and had time until the next one, instead of waiting I walked from O'Bryant Square across the Steel Bridge to the Rose Quarter MAX station. The Steel Bridge is hard to see in the photo above, but it's there.
Along the way I captured a Union Pacific freight with mostly empty well cars on the east side of the Willamette River.
The MAX ride from Rose Quarter to the hotel still takes a little while. As I walk to my hotel, I pass this awesome combination of businesses. Just in case the psychic gets it wrong, there's always insurance.
