Hiking at Flumserberg

Walensee
This morning I took S2 from Zurich Enge to Unterterzen, picked up Tomasz along the way. In Unterterzen you get off the train through the pedestrian tunnel and get in line for the gondola to the Flumserberg ski area. This is so efficient that many people didn't bother bringing shoes, but came in their ski boots.

We followed a route suggestion from myswitzerland.com using maintained winter hiking paths ("Winterwanderweg") from Tannenbodenalp at the top of the gondola via Chrüz to Prodalp and through Madlis Moos back to the gondola.

Through forest and next to the ski run we climb the hill to Chrüz.

Almost at Chruz
Wow! The view is amazing up here.

Gamsberg
We continued to follow the path through the forest towards Prodalp. The sun is out and the sparkle on snow is amazing.

There were very few people on this path.

From Prodalp we started the descent to Madlis Moos with very nice views of the Liechtenstein Alps and Flums down in the valley.

This is the creek on the photo further up in this post, which was taken from the sunny spot visible on top of the mountain.

The upper part of the gondola is really step with great views of Walensee and Churfirsten.

A great way to spend this very nice winter day in good company.
